Ocean Energy Systems (OES) has been organized by its founders to develop and commercialize products that will help reduce this planets fresh water deficit. OES’s initial product -- The Amplified Wave Energy Converter System (AWECS) -- is a self-contained, transportable desalinization plant that uses ocean wave energy to safely, reliably and inexpensively desalinate and purify ocean water. The AWECS (patent applied for) uses a high percentage of commercial-off-the-shelf components and is designed to operate in harsh ocean environments, including 100 year storm conditions. Each AWECS is expected to produce 150,000 gallons of potable water per day. The AWECS, designed for a 20-year operating life, with appropriate maintenance and will be superseded with newer designs, materials and technologies every second decade.
